Set on the upper floors directly above the casino's warm amber glow, this loft room carries a low, intimate ceiling of pressed copper panels that reflect candlelight in ways that feel almost conspiratorial. A deep freestanding bath sits beside a window that frames the cable car climbing the Kelburn hillside - a sight that, somehow, never grows ordinary.

The Aro Valley Retreat Room
Named for Wellington's most quietly creative neighbourhood, this room turns its back on the harbour and faces the green Zealandia ridge instead, filling the space with the particular stillness of the city's bush edge. Dark basalt stone walls absorb the afternoon light slowly, and the bespoke hand-thrown ceramic fittings in the bathroom were commissioned from a local Newtown artisan.
